Dr. Ellis has been performing ophthalmic and facial plastic procedures for over thirty years, including eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) , laser skin resurfacing, Botox for wrinkles, and dermal fillers for scars and wrinkles.
Dr. Ellis is proud to offer the FDA approved Latisse for patients suffering from hypotrichosis. The Latisse treatment works to grow eyelashes and make them longer, thicker, and darker.
Latisse works by having an affect on the eyelash hair growth cycle. The hair growth cycle is increased and more hairs are generated during the cycle. It is still unknown the exact process in which way this takes place. Results with Latisse can be seen significantly within 2 months of use. Latisse is the only FDA approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis.
Dr. Ellis will work closely with you to determine if Latisse is right for you. You should not take Latisse if you have eye pressure problems or are taking medications for eye pressure problems. If you have risk factors for glaucoma you should not use Latisse. Test show potential side effects to include itching, eye irritation, dryness or redness of the eyelids. If you develop symptoms after you begin treatment you should contact your doctor immediately.
Latisse is a very simple treatment that should be done once nightly. All should wash your face, remove all excess makeup and take out your contact lenses before applying the solution. Use one of the applicators to gently apply the solution from the inside to the outside of the eyelash. Once applied dispose of the applicator.
